Traffic Stop Leads to Multiple Charges
A 31-year-old Sheridan man was arrested after a short pursuit Friday on Big Horn Avenue.
According to Sheridan Police Lt. Travis Koltiska, the incident began as a traffic stop for a speeding violation.
The vehicle stopped momentarily before driving away at a high rate of speed with the officer in pursuit. In total, the pursuit traveled around 10 city blocks.
After the driver struck a curb, damaging the vehicle’s axle, the driver, later identified as 32-year-old Ricard Bamberger, allegedly fled on foot.
The Sheridan County Sheriff’s Office and Wyoming Highway Patrol assisted SPD locating Bamberger, who reportedly became combative during the process of the arrest.
He was subsequently charged with two counts of interference with an officer, eluding, reckless driving, and driving under the influence.
