Flood Watch in Effect Through Tonight
The National Weather Service (NWS) in Billings has issued a flood watch that remains in effect through midnight, Thursday.
NWS predicts widespread rain and mountain snow will continue to fall throughout the day. Soil conditions are very moist and additional rainfall will cause strong rises in local creeks and streams. Low-lying areas prone to ponding will fill with water.
Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.

Sheridan County has sandbags available at multiple locations.
According to Sheridan County Emergency Management Coordinator Bruce Edwards, the weather is following expectations for an “unsettled” weather pattern, with alternating bands of snow and rain.
Edwards said he will be waiting “with bated breath” for the rest of week to see what happens and hear updates from the NWS.
