Former Buffalo Chamber CEO Sentenced
Former Buffalo Chamber of Commerce CEO Angela Fox was sentenced to two to five years for each of three counts of felony theft by District Judge William Edelman, on Monday. However, the three consecutive sentences were suspended, except for 90 days incarceration in the Johnson County Detention Center, after which Fox will serve 10 years’ probation.
In early 2018, the Buffalo Chamber Board of Directors accused Fox of using the organization’s credit cards for personal purchases.
A forensic audit confirmed personal charges were made on a card Fox had authority over, and there was no evidence the charges were repaid to the chamber. The expenses included travel for her husband to chamber events and a wedding dress.
Fox was found guilty by a jury in January.
According to Johnson County Attorney Tucker Ruby, he requested Fox be sentenced to concurrent sentences of four to seven years at the Wyoming Women’s Center.
Ruby said he presumes Fox will appeal the case.
