Game and Fish to Discuss Selection of New Director
The Wyoming Game and Fish Department has announced that it will hold two meetings this month with the goal of selecting a new game and fish director.
The announcement comes after the sudden announcement of former Game and Fish Director Scott Talbot, who had held the position for over 30 years.
For the moment, John Kennedy, Deputy Director of Internal Affairs, is serving as acting director until a permanent director is chosen.
The new director will be appointed by Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon, in accordance with state law, from three candidates chosen by the Wyoming Game and Fish Commission.
The first meeting is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 8, through teleconference at 2 p.m.
The game and fish invites to public to call in beginning at 3:30 p.m. to participate in a public discussion by calling (877) 278-2734.
The second meeting will take place Monday, Feb. 11, in the Casper Regional Office on Energy Lane. The meeting will begin at 9 a.m. in open session, after which the commission will make their decision in executive session.
