Car Hits School Bus, No Reported Injuries
A school bus driver was cited yesterday, Jan. 10, for failure to yield to oncoming traffic after a crash at the intersection of North Sheridan Avenue and Brundage Street.
According to the Sheridan Police Department and Sheridan School District 2, no injuries were reported on scene.
Lt. Travis Koltiska said the car struck the bus as the bus driver attempt to make a turn. The car attempted to avoid the collision, but was unsuccessful.
The students on the bus were checked out by the school nurse after they arrived at school. Assistant Superintendent of Sheridan County School District #2 Scott Stults said he wasn’t aware of any reported injuries.
Stults said that school buses are designed to keep passengers safe.
“Those buses are built such that they are extremely solid,” Stults said.
After the students were checked, the nurse made phone calls to each student’s guardians.
