Chief Adriaens Presents This Year’s Crime Data To Council
Sheridan Police Chief Rich Adriaens announced the 2018 crime stats at last night’s city council meeting, revealing crime that was, on the whole, down from previous years.
Adriaens said that some of the increased incidents involving alcohol resulted from the passing of ordinance 2178. The ordinance requires servers to notify the police department if patrons were endangering people or property in the liquor establishment. Adriaens said that since the ordinance’s passing, the two year average of recorded incidents in monitored liquor establishments has gone up 109 percent.
The table below shows the average crime incidents for the past three years and the number of incidents that occurred this year.
|Crime||2015-2017 Average||2018||% Change|
|Alcohol Arrests (non DUI)||183.7||163||-11.4%|
